Propaganda
The purpose of propaganda is to spread information or ideas, usually exaggerated, to promote a cause. Propaganda was used during WWII to influence public opinion. It was often used to recruit women into the work force and men to the military, convince parents to evacuate children, to promote rationing, and more. There were several different forms of propaganda, such as posters, comics and cartoons, advertising, the radio, and sometimes even movies. It was used to recruit soldiers and to point blame at other countries. The propaganda also promoted patriotism and the strength of women. Rosie the Riveter is a great example of propaganda being used to show the strength of women.
